TECNICAS REUNIDAS CONTINUES RELYING ON AMPO POYAM VALVES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF MORE THAN 1200 VALVES FOR CRISP PROJECT AND THIS ENABLES EXXON MOBIL TO APPROVE AMPO’S MANUFACTURING PLANT IN INDIA
AMPO POYAM VALVES is currently designing and manufacturing more than 1,200 severe service gate, globe and check valves for Chemical and Refining Integrated Singapore Project (CRISP), a refinery based in Singapore. The main Spanish contractor Tecnicas Reunidas was awarded the contract to execute the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the processing units of the refinery to expand Exxon Mobil’s refinery facilities in Singapore and increase the production of high-quality lubricant base stocks.
Most of the valves that AMPO POYAM VALVES is currently developing for this project are special material and high-pressure valves, with sizes ranging up to 18” and pressures varying up to 2500 lbs. This project has moreover enabled Exxon Mobil to approve AMPO POYAM VALVES’ new manufacturing plant in India for the development of this project as well as future projects.
Consequently, most of the valves will be produced in AMPO INDIA, a 100% owned AMPO plant that comprises an area of approximately 15,000 square meters and includes valves assembly, testing, painting and packing facilities. In these new facilities that were officially opened in 2017, AMPO POYAM VALVES is able to manufacture up to 72” size valves. It is important to mention that AMPO INDIA is currently an exact copy of the Spanish plant, where the presence of Spanish workers in the Indian workshop is continuous so that the coordination and communication between branches is fluent.
And although the new plant was opened in 2017, AMPO POYAM VALVES landed in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu, India) in 2009 in order to assist their customer’s demands and requirements. Initially, they rented a pavilion and by June 2010 orders were already being assembled and sent from here. During this period and till 2017, the year of the official launch of the new manufacturing plant, AMPO POYAM VALVES had had rented simultaneously up to 4 pavilions in the area. So we can say that AMPO already has a wide experience in the manufacturing of valves in India, with a highly qualified team formed by more than 330 people.
However, although most of the valves for this project are being manufactured in India, approximately 65 cryogenic valves required in this order will be manufactured in Spain.
AMPO POYAM VALVES has achieved during the last two years the approval of some of the most important contractors and end users for its AMPO INDIA manufacturing plant and it will continue working on that, considering that AMPO INDIA is outstandingly prepared to meet the most stringent customer requirements.
Tecnicas Reunidas and Exxon Mobil have decided to work with AMPO POYAM VALVES in this project due to its certified quality and its capability of manufacturing highly engineered valves for the refining industry.
