AMPO POYAM VALVES WILL SUPPLY MORE THAN 5,550 HIGHLY ENGINEERED VALVES FOR THE NORTH FIELD SOUTH PROJECT (NFS) IN QATAR
AMPO POYAM VALVES has designed and manufactured more than 5,550 highly engineered cryogenic and non-cryogenic gate, globe and check valves for the North Field South (NFS) Onshore LNG Facilities project, developed by QatarEnergy LNG in Ras Laffan, Qatar, as part of the expansion of the North Field, the world’s largest non-associated natural gas field.
The North Field South project involves the construction of two new LNG mega trains, each with a capacity of 8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), together with associated gas treatment facilities, natural gas liquids recovery units, and helium extraction and refining systems. The project will also include a large CO2 carbon capture and sequestration facility of 1.5 Mtpa, leading to 25% plus reduction of greenhouse gas emissions when compared to similar LNG facilities. The project is being executed by the joint venture formed by Technip Energies France and CCC, acting as EPC contractor for QatarEnergy LNG.
AMPO POYAM VALVES’ scope of supply includes highly engineered gate, globe and check valves for cryogenic and non-cryogenic services, including a significant scope of large-sized, high-pressure valves, such as the notable 60″ and 900 lbs pressure seal gate valves.
This new scope builds on AMPO’s successful supply for the North Field East expansion in 2022, where all valves have already been installed, and reflects the trust placed by QatarEnergy LNG and Technip Energies France in AMPO POYAM VALVES as a partner for highly engineered valve solutions in the world’s most demanding LNG projects.
This new project reinforces AMPO POYAM VALVES’ position as one of the leading valve suppliers for the global LNG industry, built over more than six decades of experience across every major liquefaction hub in the world. AMPO has designed and supplied highly engineered valves for large-scale LNG projects in the United States, Qatar, China, Europe, and other liquefaction and regasification facilities across Africa, Australia and the Americas. This broad international footprint, combined with cutting-edge in-house manufacturing capacity, allows AMPO to respond to the most demanding technical requirements of large-scale LNG projects anywhere in the world.
