THE ALPINIST ALBERTO IÑURRATEGI HELD A CONFERENCE IN AMPO IN FAVOUR OF FAILING
In the framework of AMPO’s new communication programme called “Outdoor winds”, the alpinist Alberto Iñurrategi addressed his personal vision about mountaineering to AMPO employees in a conference held last Thursday in the company’s headquarters.
Alberto’s presentation was accompanied by spectacular photographs of his expeditions and adventures, and he firmly valued the concept of failing. Society mainly values success, but he really believes that failing should also be promoted; feeling proud of the simple fact of trying to achieve our goals, doing self-criticism and valuing what we have learnt throughout the process.
On the other hand, he also spoke about objectives, motivation and enthusiasm, clearly mentioning that to achieve our goals it is essential to have the necessary motivation and enthusiasm. In addition, he pointed out the importance of marking demanding challenges, which are in turn achievable, in order to avoid falling into comfort. Always keeping in mind that “people are capable of giving more than we think”.
All attendees had the opportunity to learn about Alberto’s long experience, finding out the adventures that he has had in places like Everest, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum, Antarctica, etc. At the end of the conference attendees asked also many questions, finishing the conference with a really friendly tone.
During the next months AMPO will continue organizing new conferences within its programme “Outdoor winds”, with the following objective; to share with AMPO employees first-hand experiences and interesting and current trends about different issues.
Apart from the mountain climber Alberto Iñurrategi, during the last months companies such as Eroski, Repsol, Enagas, Banco Santander, Velatia, etc. have participated in this programme.
