AMPO POYAM VALVES TO SUPPLY CRYOGENIC VALVES FOR NET ZERO TEESSIDE (NZT) POWER, CAPTURE AND COMPRESSION PROJECT IN THE UK
Making a new energy era possible. AMPO POYAM VALVES continues to reinforce its commitment to the energy transition with the award of a new contract to supply cryogenic gate, globe and check valves for the Power, Capture and Compression (PCC) Project, part of the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) initiative in Teesside, North-East England and which is a full-chain carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) initiative.
Net Zero Teesside, developed in association with the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP), aims to kick-start the decarbonisation of the Teesside and Humber industrial clusters and deliver the UK’s first zero-carbon industrial cluster, capturing up to 10 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
The project comprises a large-scale CCGT power generation plant equipped with a post-combustion carbon capture system. The abated power will be dispatched to the UK grid, while the captured and conditioned CO2 will undergo high-pressure compression before feeding directly into the offshore pipeline for sequestration. The HP compression system is sized at 4 MTPA, also accommodating CO2 from additional emitters within the local gathering network.
The project is being developed by Net Zero Teesside Power Ltd, a joint venture between BP and Equinor, and executed by Technip Energies as EPC contractor.
As part of this contract, AMPO POYAM VALVES is supplying several cryogenic gate, globe and check valves. The first units are scheduled for delivery in September 2026, with the remaining valves to follow in 2027.
This award reflects AMPO’s position in delivering highly engineered valve solutions for carbon capture and compression infrastructure, further strengthening the company’s participation in the UK’s growing decarbonisation sector. Projects like NZT reinforce AMPO’s ongoing commitment to supporting the industries and technologies that are making a new energy era possible.
