AMPO POYAM VALVES WILL SUPPLY 180 LARGE-SIZED CRYOGENIC AND NON-CRYOGENIC GATE VALVES FOR ARAMCO’S RIYAS NGL PROJECT IN SAUDI ARABIA

AMPO POYAM VALVES has been selected to supply 180 highly engineered large-sized gate valves, including a significant number of cryogenic service gate valves, for the Riyas NGL Fractionation Trains project in Saudi Arabia. The end user of this strategic project is Aramco, one of the world’s largest energy companies, and the EPC contract has been awarded to Técnicas Reunidas, the leading Spanish global engineering firm.

The Riyas NGL fractionation facility is being built in Jubail, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and forms part of the second phase of the Jafurah unconventional gas field development, the largest unconventional gas field in the Middle East. The plant will process the natural gas liquids received from Jafurah through two parallel fractionation trains, each with a capacity of 255,000 barrels per day (MBD), and will include fractionation, treatment, dehydration and refrigeration units to produce ethane, propane, butane and pentane. This project is a key component of Aramco’s long-term strategy to significantly increase its gas production capacity and diversify its energy portfolio.

Given the scale and complexity of the facility, the project requires large-sized valves capable of performing reliably across both general and cryogenic services. AMPO POYAM VALVES will supply 148 cryogenic service gate valves in sizes up to 64” and 600lbs, and large-sized gate valves for general service, ranging up to 68″ and 600lbs. This combination of very large diameters and demanding cryogenic conditions places the project among the most technically challenging references in AMPO’s portfolio.
