AMPO POYAM VALVES IS SUPPLYING SEVERAL HIGH PRESSURE AND SPECIAL MATERIAL BALL, GATE AND CHECK VALVES FOR THE UPGRADE ABQAIQ FILLED WATER INJECTION SYSTEM PROJECT IN SAUDI ARABIA

AMPO POYAM VALVES is currently supplying more than 300 highly engineered ball, gate and check valves up to 36” and 1500 lbs for the Upgrade Abqaiq filled water injection system project in Saudi Arabia. The Abqaiq water injection facility is part of Saudi Aramco’s program to maintain oil production levels at the Abqaiq field, where they are working on the installation of new equipment and pipelines.

Saudi Aramco is the owner and end user of this facility and it awarded the EPC contract for the development of this upgrade to Nesma & Partners. It has been our deep knowledge and experience on corrosive environments and high-pressure applications which have made Saudi Aramco and Nesma entrust the award of this contract to AMPO POYAM VALVES.

The plant deals with salt water and due to the corrosive nature, nickel-based alloys and super austenitic stainless steels have been required for several valves.  Moreover, Inconel 625 cladding operations are also being handled in diverse valves with a high level of automation with diverse in-house welding robots and cladding cells. These high-quality surface coatings and hardenings are applied by this technology for special processes and applications in sealing and contact areas to provide anticorrosive qualities and wear resistance, anti-coking, metal dusting resistance, etc. On the other hand, FBE (Fusion Bonded Epoxy) interior coatings are also being used in some valves to protect pipelines from corrosion, as well as to improve mechanical properties for valve operation at high temperatures, to provide protection to the equipment against mechanical damage, etc. This coating adheres perfectly to interior surfaces.
