AMPO POYAM VALVES strengthens its presence in the Caspian region with AMPO KAZAKHSTAN, a new manufacturing and servicing plant dedicated to highly engineered valves and field engineering services.
Atyrau (Kazakhstan), 17 September 2026 — AMPO has celebrated today the opening ceremony of AMPO KAZAKHSTAN, its new facility in Atyrau, in a ceremony attended by the Ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Luis Francisco Martínez-Montes, the Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region, Mr. Muriyev Marat Bissengaliuly, the General Director of IMBC, Mr. Dastan Abishev, alongside several senior representatives from major operators and industrial players, as well as institutional representatives, customers and partners from across Kazakhstan and the Caspian region.
Located in Atyrau, the new plant marks a further step in the international development of AMPO Group and reinforces its commitment to being closer to its customers in one of the world’s key energy markets. From Atyrau, AMPO is manufacturing and supplying highly engineered ball, gate, globe, check, hypercentric ball and dilating disk control valves, among other type of valves, together with a full range of technical support services delivered by a dedicated team of field engineers.
Local manufacturing and servicing capabilities
AMPO KAZAKHSTAN occupies a workshop of approximately 2,600 square meters, equipped with machining, assembly and testing capabilities to cover the manufacturing and repair of valves and spare parts locally, as well as a dedicated Training Center for the development of local technical talent. The facility has been designed to progressively ramp up its production capabilities, supporting customers’ full range of requirements locally. The ceremony included a corporate presentation of AMPO KAZAKHSTAN and a guided tour of the facilities, giving guests the opportunity to see the plant’s equipment and capabilities at first hand.
A long-term commitment to Kazakhstan
In his remarks, the Chairman of AMPO Group, Mr. Iban Ferreira, underlined that the project goes well beyond the inauguration of a new building. “Opening this facility is not simply about opening a new building. It is about starting a new chapter in our relationship with Kazakhstan and with our valued customers and partners across the Caspian region,” he said. Ferreira also stressed the role the country plays in the global energy landscape: “Kazakhstan is a strategic energy market and plays an increasingly important role in the global energy landscape. For AMPO, being present here is an important step in our international development and, above all, a long-term commitment to our customers.” The Chairman thanked Ambassador Luis Francisco Martínez-Montes for his attendance, noting that his presence “reflects the importance of strengthening the ties between Spain and Kazakhstan”.
Building local expertise and customer proximity
Massimo Bindini, General Manager of AMPO KAZAKHSTAN, highlighted the importance of the new facility for strengthening AMPO’s relationship with customers in Kazakhstan and across the Caspian region. “Being here, close to our customers, allows us to better understand their needs and respond with greater agility. We are bringing AMPO’s international experience to Kazakhstan while, at the same time, building strong local capabilities,” he said. Bindini also emphasized the importance of developing local talent. “For us, this project is not only about manufacturing and servicing valves locally. It is also about transferring knowledge, developing our team and creating the technical capabilities needed to support our customers in the long term. We are committed to growing together with Kazakhstan and contributing our experience and technology to the development of the local energy industry,” he added.
AMPO KAZAKHSTAN’s ambition is to become a strategic partner for Kazakhstan and the Caspian region, with a particular focus on critical valve maintenance services for key projects in the country. The facility combines advanced equipment and technical capabilities for the development and servicing of highly engineered valves, alongside a dedicated team of highly qualified field engineers with extensive international experience — providing a prompt response to local customer needs, including technical support during start-up and commissioning, equipment selection, engineered solutions, preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and training.
