Maintenance shutdown support at Chevron’s Salt Lake City Refinery

CHALLENGE:

To ensure the flawless operation and long-term performance of AMPO-supplied isolation valves installed in 2018 by providing expert support and spare parts during a critical shutdown at the ISO Alkylation Unit — a process with severe service requirements and no margin for error

SOLUTION:

AMPO SERVICE participated actively in the plant’s maintenance shutdown, supporting approximately 40 isolation valves — part of an original package of nearly 100 valves delivered in 2018. Two AMPO field engineers were deployed on-site to provide hands-on technical support and ensure proper servicing. The original valves had been designed specifically for the unit’s severe conditions, incorporating special coatings and tailored materials. Thanks to AMPO’s deep product knowledge and proactive involvement, the risk of failure due to incorrect maintenance was minimized. This successful operation reinforces AMPO’s reputation for long-term reliability and its leadership in downstream valve solutions.
