On November 3rd, AMPO received the prestigious “Made in Euskadi” Award, a recognition granted by the Basque Business and Society Foundation to highlight our trajectory, international vocation, constant commitment to innovation, customer orientation, and dedication to the Basque Country.
The award ceremony took place at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao during the 34th edition of La Noche de la Empresa Vasca (The Night of Basque Business), an annual event that brings together representatives from the Basque business and institutional community.
The President of AMPO’s Governing Council, Iban Ferreira, accepted the award on behalf of all members of the cooperative. In his speech, he emphasized the values, journey, and collective commitment that have guided AMPO for over 60 years, evolving from a valve manufacturer into a comprehensive engineering company specializing in fluid handling systems—delivering greater value to customers and supporting them through the most complex challenges of the energy sector.
The event also celebrated the talent and innovation of other Basque companies. Javier Ormazabal Echevarria, President and CEO of Velatia, was named Best Basque Entrepreneur 2024; Danobat Group and Zunibal received the Business Innovation Award; and Bayer AG was honored with the Euskal Makila.
The ceremony concluded with remarks from Mikel Jauregi, the Basque Government’s Minister of Industry, Energy Transition, and Sustainability, who highlighted the importance of these awards in promoting and recognizing Basque entrepreneurial talent.
