CORROSIVE AND SEA
WATER SERVICE
DESCRIPTION
Environmental change is increasing the extension of dry areas and those areas are becoming drier than ever before. The lack of water resources has led to the development of processes using sea water as the original source. However, even if there are great possibilities to use sea water service, this media has very high requirements due to its corrosive action and environment.
Nowadays the most common applications of corrosive and sea water service valves are desalination plants. Nevertheless, there are other applications using sea water that is not desalinated. One example is the mining industry; sea water is mixed with minerals in order to obtain the slurry which needs a high percentage of water in order to be transported through the pipelines
