AMPO POYAM VALVES, world leader in highly engineered valves, celebrated yesterday the official opening ceremony of its new valve manufacturing and servicing plant, AMPO ARABIA, in Dammam 2nd Industrial City. During this ribbon cutting ceremony they have had the honour of welcoming Mr. Jorge Hevia, Ambassador of Spain, Mr. Hatim A Zaher, from the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Bader Al Reziza, Chairman  of the Board of the Eastern Chamber of Commerce, their local partner, Dar Massader, together with distinguished representatives of companies and institutions such as, Aramco, NPCC, Modon, CAT Contracting, Nesma, RTCC, Petronash, SWCC, KBR, SADC, NWWC, AHQ, Zeeco, WE Energy and Saudi Mechanical Industries, amongst others.

The event has commemorated the completion of a new manufacturing and servicing facility in KSA, which will be an extension of the main valve manufacturing plant in Spain. With this project AMPO supports Vision 2030, the main localization strategy, together with the local content program In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA). The company wants to transfer global top-tier technology and know-how to the Saudi market, helping expand national industry capacity and enabling economic growth and development in the region. Being closer to its customers, local facility will positively impact local delivery lead times and aftersale services to meet demands of current and future projects. For that AMPO Arabia follows similar structure, technical and operational capabilities, and is rotating key personnel to ensure consistency and product quality.

Commenting on the short term future, Mr. Ibon Imaz, AMPO’s Managing Director, said “We want to be a strategic partner and we share the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, an important country project. AMPO Arabia is just a start and will be followed by further business opportunities and investments that can add higher value to the Saudi thriving economy.”  He added, “However, we are not new in Saudi Arabia. AMPO POYAM VALVES has been collaborating with the country customers since 1998, having supplied during all those years more than 20,000 valves for strategic projects in KSA, such as: Jubail, Yanbu, Ras Tanura, Rabigh, Khursaniyah, Marjan Field Expansion, Berri Field Development, Abqaia project, etc.

Mr. Salah Elkadiki, AMPO ARABIA’s Managing Director, noted that “The new factory located in Dammam, 2nd Industrial City, now fully operational, covers an area of approximately 5,000 sqm including valve assembly, testing, painting and servicing facilities. This allow AMPO offer a wide range of highly engineered custom made gate, globe, check and ball valves and best-in-class services and technologies for the local and GCC region energy industry, covering applications in the oil, gas, petrochemical, chemical, water, mining and power sectors.” He added “Our local AMPO SERVICE team will guarantee a prompt response to customer needs in terms of technical support in start-up stages, commissioning, engineered solutions, equipment selection, preventive and predictive maintenance, etc.” Regarding job creation, he added: “We are creating quality job opportunities for saudi nationals through our extensive training and development programs”.

Dar Massader, our local partner, has also played a relevant role in this opening. Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Abdulrahman Albakr, CEO and Chairman of Dar Massader Group, said “We are celebrating today a new localization project for Dar Massader and in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. We are glad to be a part of AMPO Arabia”.
